Position: Product Manager

Reports to: Marketing Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in setting goals for revenues, profitability, cash flow, market share and growth, monitors P&L, and evaluates, recommends, and initiates cost reductions.
• Assists in product definition, including pricing, cost and performance objectives, packaging strategies, and reliability and functional features for existing products, product modifications, and new product development.
• Assists in defining target markets/customers and product positioning, and makes presentations to management on marketing and sales strategies for proposed new product development.
• Develops business cases for new product development, including financial evaluations, competitive, market and customer needs, critical success factors, sales justifications, and other business components.
• Initiates, manages and tracks the product development cycle through product review committees, and delivers contributions on time and in full.
• Coordinates the field testing of all new products to validate functionality/durability and value for intended use.
• Makes recommendations regarding the distribution of products, including sales channels, warehousing, inventory control and shipping.
• Attends trade shows, reviews market/trade publications, and interfaces with sales team to develop sales tools, training programs, trade shows
• Provides technical assistance in response to inquiries, as well as customer support, when required.
• Works with Marketing Director in developing plans for advertising, sales promotion, public relations, personal selling, and promotions.
• Proofreads for accuracy all product copy for marketing and communications purposes.
• Undertakes marketing audits to monitor sales performance.

Requirements:

• Construction industry products/market experience
• 3-5 Years proven product line management
• B.S. Degree Marketing, Advertising, Business, Engineering or equivalent
• Fluency with a foreign language (Spanish a plus)
• Must exhibit computer proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite, QuarkXpress or InDesign, Adobe Photoshop a plus. PC and Macintosh proficiency a bigger plus.

Other Duties:

• travel to job sites, sales presentations (15-20% travel)
