Position: Territory Sales Representative – CT, MA, ME, NH, RI & Vermont
Department: Sales

POSITION PURPOSE
The Technical Sales Representative will cultivate relationships and sell goods and services in an assigned geography or market. The TSR will network with engineers, owners, and contractors to ascertain needs and provide solutions that drive profitability and customer satisfaction. The SR will have a thorough understanding of the dynamics in their assigned responsibility including revenue opportunities, competition and trends that will affect the business overall.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Identify projects and opportunities within the designated geography
• Develop accurate quarterly forecasts
• Drive sales by promoting the brand at all levels of the sales funnel
• Cultivate and maintain customer relationships by driving project specifications, providing technical expertise to end-users and owners, and partnering with distribution channels
• Coordinate design engineers, owners, contractors, and channel partners to successfully close projects
• Obtain a strong technical understanding of products and function as a consultative resource for design engineers, owners and contractors (customers)
• Provide monthly reports as directed on activity, including recent travel, market trends, and competitive updates
• Work with segment Engineering Specialists to provide technical support during specification development
• Interview “true customers” to identify value propositions and adjacent opportunities, including additional sales and potential new products
• Provide on-site technical assistance to meet customer needs and drive the value add
• Conduct frequent “Lunch & Learn” presentations to engineering firms

EDUCATIONAL/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Four-year college degree preferred
• Must have experience working with engineering design firms, facility owners and operators, OEM equipment manufacturers, and contractors.
• Basic understanding of Salesforce
• Strong presentation skills & basic computer skills
• Travel – up to 50%
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must be task oriented and focused on priorities predicated upon the 80/20 principle
• Ability to effectively interface with all levels of customer, company and agency personnel
